Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third grade is a pivotal year in the academic lives of students. Reading skills at this level are critical. Third grade is where the jump from learning to read to reading to learn takes place and it is likely that if student's aren't reading at grade level by 3rd grade, they likely will be below grade level for the rest of their academic careers.

My class has quite the personality.

They are very affectionate, very active and very dramatic. There is always so much going on in our room because our days are crammed full of academics, especially after a year of online learning!

My Project

Especially after a year of online learning, my students are having to relearn how to be students in a classroom! Staying in their seats and staying focused are challenges we are still working on.

Staying still in their seats is especially challenging for my students with ADHD.

Flexible seating options are ideal because students have an outlet for their wiggles while still staying safely in their seat. And, a variety of options will help make sure that the students who especially need this tool, will find something that works best for them.
