My Students

These materials will help my students access learning from a different mode other than lecture. They need a variety of learning tools to keep them engaged and learning.

They are 4th and 5th graders from a low income school with high hopes and interests.

They are happy and polite and deserve more opportunities. They deserve to have the same access to learning as schools with higher budgets. The students fight over the two boards that I have and they would feel so special if they had their own materials to use.

My Project

My students need individual white boards for practice, timers for fluency practice and a game to help them build vocabulary. I have always wished for these small white boards to use in many of my lessons. They are convenient and allow the students to participate without fear of failure. For example, I will ask them an answer to a math problem and they can all write it and show it to me without anyone else seeing their answer. The boards are also effective in small groups as well as whole groups. I can ask for the meaning of vocabulary words and they can write them, or have them draw geometric angles and shapes.

I have been using two white boards and one sand timer for a long time now.

It would be so great to have one for each student instead of them sharing the two that I have. Please consider my request; my students would enjoy these materials for days and days to come.
