My Project

I am very excited about the items I am requesting for my students! All of my Kindergarten students come to school eager to learn and play. For many, this is their first experience in a school setting. Their eyes light up when they see books, manipulatives, games, puzzles, flashlights, and magnets.

Children love to read, but they get so excited to read in the dark with mini flashlights!

In our classroom, we do independent reading, buddy reading, small group reading, reading with pointer fingers, but their most favorite type of reading is reading in the dark with mini flashlights. In years past, I have asked students to bring flashlights from home, but I have found that many do not own flashlights. By having a class set, this will ensure that every child has one when we do this fun activity.

In Kindergarten, students spend a lot of time learning letters and sounds through different games and hands-on activities. The new games I am requesting will be a great addition to use in small group instruction to make learning fun!
