This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sitting at a table or desk all day is hard...literally. In my special education classroom student engagement and learning increase when they are in a comfortable space.
We enjoy and benefit from flexible seating choices.
Sometimes we sit on the floor and sometimes we need to add some movement. With this project, we will add to our classroom selection in a meaningful way.
An added benefit is that the swing and chair bands will allow the opportunity to get some movement input even on brain breaks or during indoor recess. These choices will also help with posture control and not always having to lay down or hunch over to write when sitting on the floor.
