Fun and Engaging Hybrid Cooking Class

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! After a year of being home and learning virtually, they are eager to be back in the classroom.

My Project

After a year of being entirely online, my students need a break from staring at a screen. While they are in school, there are a lot of restrictions for my food class. These restrictions are that they must work individually during cooking labs and they can only eat off of disposable plates. The paper plate and cups will help allow them to cook safely while adhering to the safety guidelines for my class. It will also help me keep my food budget on track so they are able to get multiple opportunities to cook while in person.

Because of the individual labs and only having 4 kitchens for students to work at, I need to be able to have the students work on an ongoing project while they wait for their turn to cook.

The paper plates and foam board will help with those projects.
