Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is energetic and full of potential. Many of my students move around a lot, and I would like to help them feel that our classroom is a safe environment. My class has a high level of ELL students, and many of them come from difficult situations.

My students have positive attitudes, and they love learning.

They work hard and are kind to one another. Even though many of them struggle with understanding English, they have a desire to better their lives through education. They come to school with an excitement to learn that is inspiring. I would like to help them worry less about the supplies they need, and more about learning.

My Project

Many of the everyday resources that my students will use run out quickly. Each student should have access to the same materials throughout the year. Often, my students run out of pencils, erasers, glue, colored pencils, etc. They end up scrounging around for leftover supplies, or asking their friends. I would rather students have access to these materials from a classroom supply.

We use notebooks in every subject.

Students are learning how to take and organize notes, and composition notebooks are perfect. They are durable, portable, and can be used in a variety of ways. Each of my students will benefit from having their own supply of notebooks for each subject.

By supplying my students with these classroom supplies, they will worry less about being prepared for class, and more about learning the content they need in order to be successful.
