This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In this 5th year of teaching, I feel “inspiring” is a great way to describe my students. What makes my class special is that they inspire me daily to give my best and grow as a teacher. How my kindergartners encourage and celebrate their peers, and the difference they make throughout our school, makes it that much better to be their teacher.
I love my students excitement for reading and learning.
While the idea of having 30 kindergarteners may seem a little challenging at times, their curiosity in learning, questioning and exploring never fails to bring delight to our school day.
My Project
Who doesn’t love a good STEM activity? My kindergarten students love science experiments, building, creating and technology. This project was written to build upon my students' STEM interest and abilities. By having the LEGO set, I will be able to provide my students with hands on STEM building experiences through planning and building.
It is a joy to watch their creativity come to life when given enriching materials and support.
Unfortunately, our current manipulatives are limited and lack support for our STEM goals. I am excited for the idea of the LEGO set and believe it will build upon my students skills and foster a greater love for science throughout the year.
