My Project

How important are math and science as well as reading? Very important. I would say. I see a need to encourage the children’s thinking skills through play, exploration, and discovery. I also want to include more ways to help them develop foundational math skills that will help them in years to come. The materials I chose will help them learn vital skills they need now and, in the future.

Our class can use STEAM hands-on materials to help us explore and understand essential science and math skills.

For example, the sink and float kit will help us use our critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. For many of our students this is their first year in school so the math martials will help them learn these skills as well because they can actually feel these materials as they play. This will help our kinesthetic learners as well. My students are special to me because they come to school each day with varying levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Each one of them needs something different.
