My Students

Our students are capable, bright, and enthusiastic learners who look forward to coming to school every day. We are a small neighborhood school in an urban community. Many of our students face challenges at an early age that most people never experience. It is not an exaggeration to say that, for many, coming to school every day is a lifesaver. Given the right tools, I know that they will succeed, and I am excited to give them opportunities to shine.

Because of the current health crisis, many of our students have gone without emotional and academic support for far too long.

Now that we have returned to in-person learning, I want to be able to give them the highest quality education so that they can begin to make up for the learning losses the past 18 months have created.

These amazing kids have overcome so much adversity and are excited to come to school every single day! Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your support!

My Project

I teach 5th-grade math and science. My kiddos have lots of opportunities for hands-on science and engineering investigations. Our biggest challenge is being able to integrate technology into those projects because of a shortage of classroom computers.

The challenges we have seen in education in the past year and a half have been difficult, but they have also made us so proud of how our students responded to the task.

We know how very important it is to continue to build on the technology skills they have acquired so that our 21st-century learners leave the classroom with the skills they need to be successful.

My school does not have the funding to replace computers that were lost or damaged while students had them at home so I am asking for three laptops that students can use for research, communicating results, and designing presentations. I am so excited to give my students the opportunity to collaborate and interact with the world.
