My Students

My students love to read and learn. They are all tech savvy and can operate an iPad, phone or tablet, but they have little knowledge of Computer science concepts such as coding and programming. My goal with this project is to bring computer science to K-2 classrooms in an interactive way. I want my students to understand that computer science is not only about using a computer, but it is about how a computer works.

My Project

I am a first grade teacher and a Computer Science Lead teacher for grades K-2. My students are part of an underserved community in Brooklyn, NY.

This project will help my students learn and understand computer science concepts such as coding and also engineering.

By using Botley, my students will understand and see their code come to life in an interactive way. When using magna tiles, students can create, design and build structures.

By donating to our project, you will help the littlest learners understand computer science vocabulary and concepts that will help them in their future years as program designers, content creators, and scientists.
