Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a low-income school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. They face many challenges, challenges many people will never experience in their lifetime. I am always amazed at the great attitudes, love of learning, and kind hearts my kids have, regardless of the challenges they face. They are eager to learn and prepared to make great gains.

My Project

Our district announced that our students will be working from home again this fall. With how the year ended, they are anxious to get their brains working! I am asking for at-home STEAM kits for them to do just that! These STEAM kits will be dispersed to our students to promote creativity, scientific reasoning, direction following, problem-solving, and more. I have asked for kits that have students creating bath bombs, slime, crystals, wind chimes, beat art, and more!

I know for certain that STEAM is something our students are greatly missing right now.

Thank you for providing a sense of normalcy by giving them a STEAM activity to do while at home.
