My Students

My 3rd grade students are energetic and excited about learning. They are always asking questions and wanting to dig deeply into our units of study. My 3rd graders thrive with hands-on activities which help to keep them on-task, while remaining focused on learning through discovery. My goal is to give them every opportunity to enrich their learning process using Project Based Learning activities.

STEM manifests in our everyday lives and it is important to have students make connections between the classroom and the real world at an early age.

By exposing students to these STEM kits, we are sparking students' interests while creating lifelong learners. These kits will help to make the curriculum fun and engaging as students are the driving force behind their own learning.

My Project

My students need STEAM/STEM related supplies that will give them the opportunity to create, build, and understand the process of learning and collaborating with their peers. The force and motion, hydraulics and magnet activity labs will supplement our 3rd grade science units. The K'nex roller coaster and various building kits will also support our Project Based Learning and will foster a love for innovating and engineering.

My hope is that these tools will encourage my students to become lifelong learners who are willing to make mistakes, while learning through the process.

Students will have a better understanding that hard work takes much practice and several attempts before arriving at success. This is at the very core of the learning process and an important foundational skill for my students to learn at a young age.
