This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful, motivated group of diverse learners in my classroom. I have students who speak English as a second language with home languages of Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and Tagalog. There are also many students who come from low-income families without the opportunity to use technology at home. Their parents are very supportive of their education, so students are equally motivated. My students come to school excited to learn new things every day! They love to read, write, solve math problems and learn about science.

My Project

My students need more technology and materials to become critical thinkers and problem solvers using 21st century skills. They can use the iPad to watch BrainPop Jr. videos that will present new science, math, and engineering topics in a fun and exciting format. They can also use the iPads to research and plan for STEM projects. The STEM kits will give the students the materials and the opportunities to apply the math and engineering practices in an engaging, hands-on way. Students will think critically to design and build. They will work in teams to teach and promote cooperation and collaboration.

Your generous donation will not only make learning science and math fun, but it will be preparing these students for engineering and science in the future.

This donation will surround students with technology and engineering materials that will help foster an interest in these fields, as well as give them real life experience to develop problem solving, cooperative teamwork, design, and building skills. These materials will give students a year of learning that they will never forget.
