Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students by giving them the opportunity to collaborate, design and create STEAM projects.

As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences that will wake their natural abilities to explore and create in the real world.

My students are creative, unique and special in their own ways. They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in foster homes or foster shelters, others come from single parent family homes and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical".

My Students

One of the most powerful and rewarding instructional tools at our fingertips as STEAM educator and lifelong learners is the usage of creativity in the classroom.

My students are learning to technology materials like Cricut to help them with critical thinking skills and be successful in life.

My fourth grade students are creative and enjoy fun engaging lessons .

They are motivated, creative and always thinking outside the box. Our school has students with amazing minds capable of endless achievements. Due to lack of funding, it becomes very difficult to supply our students with the tools needed to be successful.

My Project

We have a Cricut machine in our class that allows us to create and decorate our room, but with a Cricut press we can take our Cricut technology to another level. My students have looked forward to being able to design their own shirts! They will have a hand in designing and making their designs come to life by using the Cricut software to make their creations come to life. By using the Cricut Easy Press, they will be able to transfer their designs on to shirts and other items. We would incorporate STEAM activities where students can design their own logo for their shirt business and maybe can become entrepreneurs and sell their shirt or other items creation to help fund raise for school activities like the school garden, plays and classroom supplies.

These projects will allow my students to show their creativity and the ability to use technology to create some great things.

We will make our classroom a fun learning environment as we emcorporate Cricut press for STEAM projects.
