Help me give my students the chance to create 3D printed projects, drawings, and have fun with STEAM technology! This project would allow my students chances to print 3D files, draw with 3D pens, and grow as artists!

My Project

I teach K-12 art at Redfield. The students see me year after year, and I'd like to offer them some fun, new STEAM experiences! Students currently work with regular/standard art materials (pencils, paper, markers, etc.) and we have clay for ceramics. Both of these are great in teaching artistic skills, but don't offer the opportunity to practice using technology in an artistic way.

The world of 3D printing is limitless, and each student would be able to dream up something exciting to create and be proud of.

Along with new STEAM project possibilities, the 3D printer would also help with the projects we already do in my classes. Students could 3D print things to accent their ceramic pieces, we could make display stands for fine art pieces, create sculptures for still life reference and displays, and we could make missing pieces for things as they presented themselves--just to name a few things. The possibilities are truly endless! As soon as students see how many ways a 3D printer can be used, they will be able to tap into their creativity and bring it to life.

Ms. Bottum will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 25.
