Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Fifth grade is such a fine time to be alive! Students are emerged around centered learning with them in mind! In my classroom, students learn to not just admire scientists but to become one. We explore learning through emcompassing their individual learning styles and modes. If it's auditory, then we focus on listening and dissecting key information, facts, and data to garner understanding and foster knowledge. However, visual and kinesthetic learners need to see, feel, and move, to further enhance their educational experience. And that's where you can help!

I teach at an inner city school in the heart of Springfield with a demographic of 96% Latino and African American students. My students are already faced with substantial circumstances beyond their control before they step into my classroom. Living at or below poverty line, many resources and programs are not accessible to them as others, that if provided, could catapult their growth, development, and all-embracing elementary experience.

My Project

The materials that I've selected will truly benefit every type of learner in my classroom! From the students who are shy and keep to themselves, they'll be able to explore science through the lens of the world without stepping out of their comfort zone. My students who learn from hands-on experiences will be able to thrive using the 3-D models for a stronger comprehension of skill and knowledge. And lastly, my students who struggle economically and may need some extra support, the food and snacks ensure safety and a better learning experience on a full stomach. These supplies will enhance the future for all of my students, starting today!

My students are entering a new year of learning as scholars, and with your help, they can exit as scientists!
