My Project

Many students come to school eager to learn, yet they may be having a challenging time in their daily routine. It often makes it harder for children to adjust once arriving at school. When they are expected to come in and begin to work it could cause them to become easily frustrated and shut down. However, if they are able to decompress with the Counselor while thinking good thoughts creates a positive tone for the day. I feel like students will be more engaged, excited to learn, and begin their day with a "ready to learn" mindset.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has become a critical part of learning and instruction in schools.

It is how we describe the ways in which students manage their emotions and make responsible decisions. Actively involving students in their own social and emotional development encourages them to practice good habits. I would like to give my students the opportunity to approach their mixed emotions with effective strategies to help them feel safe and back to learning in their classrooms!
