Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work on the Southwest side of Chicago in a low income neighborhood.

While my school does a wonderful job providing both breakfast and lunch for all students, I cannot tell you how often I have students ask me if I have extra snacks.

I have a great group of students this year and I know that must take some sort of bravery to admit hunger. I also worry how many other students are in front of me that are too shy or prideful to ask as well. I would love to have a space in my room where students can grab a healthy snack with no questions asked so the only thing on their mind is learning.
