Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a low-income neighborhood, where most of the students have a low socioeconomic status. My school is a Title I school, where most of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. This year is unknown and we as teaches are working extra hard to support and keep our students safe at this time.

I currently teach in a 12:1 self-contained classroom with students who have various academic and social needs.

My 12 students are in first and second grade. They are all loving and enjoy coming to school every day.

Due to COVID, this year is unknown. As teachers, this is very stressful as we want the best for our students. My students are very active and learn best through a hands-on approach. I want to provide my students with different types of materials to help them grow as learners and enjoy school.

Due to this new year being very different, each child will need their own materials to keep themselves safe. Students are not able to share materials anymore. This school year will be very different and we want our students to receive the best.

My Project

During these tough times, students are not able to share any materials. By providing these materials to each student, it will make them feel safe and ready to learn.

The snacks will help the students learn and not have to worry about hunger.

The food is now being eaten in the classroom. I want the students to be able to have snacks and be able to bring home food if needed.

The stools and classroom decorations will help decorate the room and make it feel warm and welcome. I do not want my students to have to worry.
