My Students

The students that attend my school are unlike any other I have ever met. Not only are they motivated to learn, they are proactive in taking it on themselves to learn. For example; I had 5 students who were curious to know what it was like to become a teacher. They would often stop by my Kindergarten classroom and ask to help out. So they established their own teachers club and asked if I could be in charge.

I have never met a community of young people which such insight and intuition.

They motivate me to work harder and find creative ways to teach them. They aren't afraid to ask for help or establish individual learning styles. These students are brave and inspire me to do more.

My Project

I have been able to see amazing progress and attitude towards learning through high interest book collections. For example, I had a third grade student reading on a Kindergarten level and after introducing books I though he would like, his level went up on its own! This is what my project would be about.

I have found that bridging the learning gap with my students starts with interest.

Reading these books helped my students feel more confident because they aren't expected to answer questions or discuss various literary devices.

Because with these books, they do it all on their own.
