Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are expert recorder players. They have been studying the recorder since third grade and now they are ready for something more challenging: they want to be part of a real school band with real flutes, not just plastic recorders.

My students are all eager and excited learners who have a love for music.

They attend a K-8 public school in a high poverty urban area in New Jersey. They take very good care of their plastic recorders and are respectful musicians who love to perform.

My Project

These flutes would completely invigorate my students because they would feel like they were part of a real woodwind ensemble. Although they have come a long way with their plastic recorders, these instruments have many limitations and actual flutes would open up the door to a whole new world.

If my students had access to flutes, it would be a dream come true!

They could participate in a real band and spread their enthusiasm throughout the school and community with their performances. If you donate to this project, you will bring so much joy to these young musicians.
