Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach science to bright and curious 7th-grade students at IS 254 in the Bronx, NY. My students are eager to explore the wonders of science, but sometimes hunger gets in the way of their focus and energy.

Many of my students come to class without having eaten enough, and as a result, they struggle to concentrate and engage in hands-on activities.

By providing healthy snacks, I can help ensure that my students stay energized and ready to participate in exciting science lessons, experiments, and discussions.

I am requesting a variety of nutritious snacks, such as granola bars, fruit cups, crackers, and trail mix, to keep my students fueled throughout the school day. These snacks will serve as a small but significant way to support their academic success and well-being.

A well-nourished student is a more engaged learner. Having access to snacks will help eliminate distractions caused by hunger, allowing my students to focus on learning about the natural world, conducting experiments, and developing critical thinking skills. Your support will make a meaningful difference in their educational journey!
