My Project

We are a middle school located in a predominantly African American and economically disadvantaged community in Mississippi. Our students are bright, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. However, many of them face various challenges related to access to resources, including nutritious snacks. We believe that a well-nourished student is a focused and motivated student.

The purpose of this project is to provide our students with a selection of nutritious and energizing snacks to support their learning and to offer as rewards for their hard work in my computer science classroom.

I have noticed that many students come to school without proper snacks or go through the day hungry, which significantly impacts their concentration and academic performance. By providing a variety of snacks such as chips, crackers, nabs, beef jerky, granola bars, and pop tarts, we aim to help our students stay focused and motivated throughout the school day.

Project Objectives:

Improved Focus and Energy: A well-balanced diet with healthy snacks can help students maintain their energy levels and stay focused during classes. These snacks will provide the necessary sustenance to keep their minds engaged in learning.

Positive Reinforcement: We want to reward our students for their hard work and dedication. By having snacks readily available for achievements, we can incentivize good behavior and academic excellence.
