This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Dear Generous Donor,

Many of my students are full of potential, but they face challenges that impact their ability to succeed.

One of the most pressing issues is hunger. Often, students come to class without having had a healthy meal and ask, “Do you have any snacks today?” Without food, they struggle to focus, which affects their participation and learning. By providing snacks, I can ensure that no student has to worry about hunger and can concentrate fully on their lessons.

In addition to hunger, many students are dealing with mental health challenges like stress and anxiety, which make it difficult for them to concentrate on their studies. Simple tools like mindfulness exercises, calming apps, and stress-relief fidgets can help them manage their emotions and regain focus. For example, I plan to use breathing exercises at the start of each lesson to help students calm their minds before tackling challenging tasks. Fidget toys will be available for students who need to release nervous energy during independent work, allowing them to stay engaged and productive.

Your generous donation will provide these critical resources—nutritious snacks to keep students energized, and mental health tools to help them stay emotionally balanced. These aren’t just items; they’re investments in my students' ability to thrive both academically and personally. Your support will make a direct impact, helping students who need a little extra assistance to focus, stay calm, and fully participate in class.
