Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our effort to enhance mental health awareness and foster community spirit among our students, we are seeking support for a project that will provide kids’ uniform shirts, LED light, a BBQ grill, and a speaker for an engaging event. The specific items requested will significantly impact our students' learning and well-being. The uniform shirts will create a sense of belonging and pride, promoting a cohesive classroom environment where every student feels included and valued. Hosting a BBQ will not only celebrate our collective achievements but also encourage social interaction and build stronger relationships among students, which is essential for their emotional health. Finally, inviting a speaker who specializes in mental health will provide valuable insights and tools for our students, equipping them to navigate challenges and understand the importance of mental wellness.

My primary goal for this project is to create an environment that prioritizes mental health education while strengthening the sense of community within our school.

By integrating fun and educational elements, we hope to empower students to talk openly about mental health and develop a supportive network among peers.

What makes our students special is their resilience and diversity. Each one brings unique experiences and perspectives that enrich our classroom. Many of them face challenges that can impact their mental health, and by fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, it will in turn help our students. Many times our students come without uniform polos which is why I am asking for the polo shirts to help them feel included without putting burden on their families.
