My Project

As a classroom teacher, I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and represented. To achieve this, I aim to build a culturally responsive classroom with a diverse library featuring books that reflect a wide range of racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. These books will help students see themselves in the curriculum while fostering appreciation, understanding, and representation of others. Help me provide culturally responsive books that spark meaningful conversations about identity, empathy, race, and community.

Additionally, providing healthy classroom snacks will meet students’ basic needs and create a sense of care and belonging.

Many students face challenges that affect their focus and engagement, and something as simple as a snack can make a significant difference. Pairing snacks with SEL lessons, group discussions, and cultural awareness activities will encourage collaboration, empathy, and the celebration of racial and cultural differences. Help me give my students healthy snacks and diverse books to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
