Fueling Math Minds

Help me give my students fuel to feed their minds. My students will need protein for energy, so the slim jims will be very helpful. I use snacks as incentives or when I know my students are hungry.

My Project

I teach in a rural high school on the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Most of my students ride the bus where routes are from 30 minutes to 2 hours one way. In the past years, I have had students who have approached me asking for food because they were hungry. My students know that I always have food for them and feel safe to know that they can ask me for food.

Students should not have to worry about trying to be successful when they are hungry.

I have food in my classroom for incentives, for after school snacks, and for the ones that are hungry throughout the day. I keep my classroom open for my students, especially after school and some days my students that stay are hungry so I also like to provide snacks for my students.
