This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! I am asking for donations on behalf of my students, who are bright and eager 9th graders at a high school in Harlem. As their global history teacher, I have the privilege of witnessing their growth and potential every day. However, they are hungry, growing teens!

Many of my students come to me expressing hunger because they have not eaten.

They dislike the school food. This is a heartbreaking reality that directly impacts their education and well-being. How can we expect our students to focus and excel in school when their basic need for food is not being met?

As a millennial teacher who connects with my students on various levels, I understand their struggles and want to do everything I can to support them. That's why I am launching this initiative to provide snacks for my students. These snacks will not only alleviate their hunger but also give them the energy and focus they need to succeed in the classroom.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in the lives of these young minds. Together, we can ensure that hunger is not a barrier to their education. Your support will not only provide snacks but also send a powerful message to these students that their community cares about them and believes in their potential.
