Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At MMS, our students thrive in hands-on learning environments, particularly when it comes to 3D printing and design. The rolls of 3D printer filament and computer mice will enable them to continue their favorite activity, creating and printing their own designs. The mice will provide more precision and control, allowing students to refine their 3D designs with greater detail. The chipboard and LEGO sets will support the prototyping process, allowing students to test and refine their designs before printing, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Our goal is to equip students with the tools they need to bring their creative ideas to life and explore STEM concepts while developing valuable skills in design, production, and problem-solving.

With these materials, students will be able to engage in self-directed learning, where they control the design process and experience the satisfaction of seeing their ideas materialize.

What makes my students special is their enthusiasm for learning and their determination to succeed, despite limited resources. Many of my students come from low-income households and face challenges outside the classroom, yet they approach each project with creativity and perseverance. These resources will empower them to continue exploring STEM fields, providing a pathway to future opportunities in technology, engineering, and design.

With your support, we can provide our students with the tools they need to not only succeed in the classroom, but also to develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
