Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First, I would like to thank everyone who will take the time to donate to this project. Some of my wonderful students are from economically challenged neighborhoods in the South Bronx who regardless of these circumstances, still try to adhere to the CARES values of the school: Collaborative, Appreciative, Responsible, Empathetic and remaining Steadfast.

I love that while having a snack during their read aloud sessions, they are usually listening with intention and are also quite engaged in our discussions.

The requested supplies will provide food for thought and my students will benefit greatly from having that extra bit of nourishment during snack time, that is both healthy and kosher.

Thank you in advance for ensuring my students will have their special reading spaces.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of snacks for my students. Do you ever remember being inside of a classroom for most of the day, and at the time of dismissal, wishing you had a $1 to buy your favorite snack before you head home? I want to provide my students with a boost of positive energy to their brain while they are in class, to get them excited and eager to learn.

Given plenty of healthy options, having a snack can increase nutrient intake and sustain energy levels.

This will also help to decrease hunger and keep my students from over eating at meal time. Food for thought!
