Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our softball team is requesting bats and training nets to help our players develop skills and build confidence. These items are essential for improving both individual and team performance. With quality bats, each girl can focus on honing her technique and building her strength, instead of working around worn-out equipment. The training nets will create safe practice zones for each player to develop accuracy and power, allowing for targeted practice without waiting for limited field time. This equipment enables us to run efficient, purposeful practices that teach not only athletic skills but also teamwork, resilience, and discipline—skills that translate beyond the field.

Our goal for this project is to empower each player with the tools she needs to succeed.

By providing essential equipment, we’re showing these athletes that their growth and goals matter. With the right resources, each girl can feel confident and proud of her progress, knowing that her community believes in her potential. Ultimately, this project is about fostering a supportive, challenging environment where every player can thrive, push her limits, and develop a love for the game.

What makes our students special is their unwavering dedication and courage. Despite living in a neighborhood with limited resources, they bring passion and hard work to each practice. Many of our players face tough personal challenges, yet they view softball as more than a sport—it’s a source of hope, belonging, and pride. These young women are resilient, driven, and deeply committed to each other. Your support will help them continue to reach for their dreams, knowing they have a whole community cheering them on. With these bats and nets, we’re not only equipping athletes; we’re investing in young leaders of tomorrow.
