Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This past year, I had the privilege of seeing how my students used my current materials and learned what they used most often, and what I need more of.

This next year, I want to come in better prepared with these materials from the beginning, because I noticed that having the right tools and resources available to them brought out their sense of creativity and curiosity.

For example, to continue promoting student collaboration at the whiteboards, I need more magnetic dots, and clear pouches so I can display the activity at their station. In order to better preserve the work they complete, I added cardstock paper and lamination sheets so they can see that I value the work they contribute. I also added adhesive putty to the list, so I have an easier way of displaying classwork and classroom decor to create a student-centered environment.

In addition to those items, I am also asking for basic supplies like highlighters, index cards, white-out, staplers, erasers, pencils, rulers, colored pencils, markers, lead, sharpies, and a 3-hole punch to use in our daily activities enough to last me through out the year.

Lastly, I also want to improve my classroom management and organization, so I have also included a chair, rolling storage cart, stamps, and a label maker. These items will help me create a more efficient and structured environment.
