Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will provide my low-income students with fuel to help them maintain stamina from start to finish! Many of my students commute by bus, and do not get to eat a healthy breakfast at home. If they do, it is around 5:30 a.m. Their families are not financially able to buy snacks regularly, and sadly, they go hungry until lunch time which is close to 1 p.m. These snacks will help my students feel energized, prepared and ready to learn. As we know, students who are hungry are more likely to be tired, distracted, irritable and as a result, have decreased academic performance. With your support, we can make a significant difference and give them a healthy start to fuel their hunger for life-long learning!
