My Students

There are so many numbers running through my head! How do I keep them all straight? This is the question this project seeks to answer.

I teach a great group of students.

They are highly curious about the world around them, and they like to learn new things. However, when it comes to math, my kids are at many different levels. I have some who are still struggling with applying the basic facts consistently and others who are ready to soar and extend their learning.

My Project

Math is a critical area of study that continually builds upon itself. It is essential that my students have strong foundational skills so that they can continue to build their knowledge. The goal of this project is to provide math materials for everyone. Nothing is more frustrating than doing something that is too easy or too hard. Because of this, I am asking for a variety of teaching guides. These guides range from reinforcement to extension so that each student can have practice at their level. In addition, games are a great way to apply new learning. They are nonthreatening and kids like to help their partner win. Because of this I am asking for fraction and decimal bingo along with a dice games book with supplies. It is my hope that these leveled activities and team building games will help strengthen the math skills of every student.

It is critical that my students build a strong mathematical foundation in math now in order to be successful later.

I am hoping to bring this project to life with the help of the Chevron Fuel Your School program and other generous donors. If I can build a strong foundation today, imagine the heights they can reach tomorrow!
