My Project

I am asking for a variety of sensory supports including the swivel chair which allows children to spin, improve balance and coordination and provides students with autism a way to manage sensory overload. I am asking for canvas boards to create a paint project for Mother's Day, and the brown bags will be used for children to create artwork for holidays to bring their gifts home to their families.

Children come alive when educators find ways to tap into their creative spirt and when children are regulated and calm they can access lessons alongside their typical peers with unlimited success.

Providing students with various sensory toys, which I refer to as "hands busy" toys gives children an outlet for movement and input when they are asked to sit for extended periods of time, like circle time or small group time. These sensory disks, gel and glitter puzzle toys, as well as the compression tube will give children opportunities for sensory breaks as well as transition objects to take with them tot the different small group tables. Once their sensory needs are tended, children will have greater ability to process directions, sustain attention for take completion, and have an outlet for big feelings.
