My Students

My Fantastic eager to learn second graders start the day off asking if its their turn on the computer....They get to so excited to learn its their day. We do a lot of fun activities during reading and writing...My biggest challenge is giving them all the opportunity to use the computer.

My class is full of bright, eager, enthusiastic 2nd graders.

They get so excited when we begin our day. Always willing to put forth 1000% to do their best. We are located in a title 1 school in the Coney Island area of Brooklyn. We've been through a lot since Hurricane Sandy. We strive to be the Best that we can be. Sometimes we do without because of funding and other finances. All of these challenges just make us stronger and eager to accomplish what we want with fewer resources. By the end of this school year, I want each and everyone of my students to feel that they accomplished all of their second grade goals...Do our best! Make ourselves Proud of all that we have accomplished.

My Project

My students have to alternate using the computer in the room. Many times they only get on every few days. Having the new computer will give them the opportunity to be able to complete their writing, play educational games and practice skills they have learned. With the printer they will be able to publish and print their final drafts as well as learn typing and research skills. The reading comprehension games will be a fun and exciting ways to master the skills, which they say are boring. The projector will give us the opportunity to view videos that will enhance the lesson with visuals. We are in desperate need of new books for our library. The books we have now are outdated and falling apart. I want my students to learn that there are many ways in which to learn...not just through textbooks...but, through games, visuals and song...

Any and all donations will enable my students, many who do not have the opportunities to further the way they learn at home.

Having these things in the classroom will enable us to accomplish these learning goals through fun and exciting ways. The items that I ask for will help us to locate additional resources to strengthen the learning in the class. Help us go from textbooks to technology and beyond.....
