My Project

How will the specific items make a difference in their learning?

The AeroGarden will provide my students with a tangible, real-world example of plant biology and life cycles.

By growing plants in the classroom, students will witness the stages of growth and development, which will deepen their understanding of science concepts like photosynthesis, nutrition, and ecosystems. Additionally, caring for the garden will teach students responsibility, patience, and problem-solving skills. This hands-on learning tool will make science come alive in ways that traditional textbooks cannot, providing my students with lasting knowledge.

What are your goals for this project?

My primary goal is to create a dynamic learning environment where students are excited to explore science in a practical, engaging way. The AeroGarden will encourage curiosity and promote interest in sustainability, healthy eating, and environmental stewardship. I aim to help students build strong connections between classroom learning and real-life applications, fostering a love for science that could inspire future careers in STEM fields.

What makes your students special?

My students are an inquisitive, motivated group with diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Many of them come from communities with limited access to fresh produce or green spaces, and this project will give them the opportunity to experience nature up close in a unique, meaningful way. They are eager to learn, and I want to provide them with the tools that will inspire them to reach their full potential.
