My Students

Remember when we all had separate desks in elementary school and we didn't have the opportunity to talk to our friends? I believe it's true conversation breeds learning and when you have tables that conflict with learning, you need to fix the problem. My students need smaller tables, please.

My students are a conglomerate.

It is actually the perfect cross-section of children, ethnically and financially diverse which I think humbles everyone and makes for a perfect learning environment. We have students from the largest family homeless shelter at my school, and foster students and students with disabilities in my class. My students have a wealth of knowledge, however, since I was a new teacher last year, I got the hand me down desks which have worked up until now. These students are thirsty for conversation and knowledge and love working together. They are bright and cheerful and want to make the world a better place.

My Project

These four tables will make a huge difference in my class. I have seen firsthand how smaller tables can contribute to children's learning and cooperation. It is vital that these students have proper tables for their learning environment. Smaller tables will allow them to have conversations and talk about what they are learning more readily. It will change the environment of the class and bring an openness to learning.

Bringing new furniture into my class will not only inspire students to work harder and learn better, it will improve the design of the classroom and improve the learning environment.

Smaller tables means better behavior and smaller workspaces that will allow students what they need to finish their work better. Your donations will help to improve the learning environment so students will flourish. Thank you again.
