From Pixels to Printing: Printed Resources Needed for Our Classroom

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in West Harlem. Many of our students receive free lunch. Our students come from various cultural backgrounds, and have various learning needs. Our class is unique since it contains students with individualized education programs and students in general education, an ICT (Integrated co-teaching) class. We also have quite a few English as a New Language (ENL) students in our classroom as well.

Many of the students in our 4th grade class have many different types of learning needs, as well as come from different cultural backgrounds.

We are looking to create materials to help support and meet our students' needs where they are, and materials to help take them further, so that they can experience educational success.

My Project

Ms. Rivas and I (Mrs. Lee) are in need of a printer, paper, and ink for our classroom. Our class is an integrated co-teaching class, or ICT, in a New York City public school. This means that part of our classroom consists of students with particular learning needs, as well as students in general education. We also have a fraction of our class that is comprised of students who are still learning to master the English language. We are always planning and creating resources and materials that we need to give students the foundational skills that they need to be successful, as well as enrichment materials to take their learning further.

This printer will help us to create materials in both English Language Arts and mathematics!

We can create materials for guided reading and strategy groups to help students improve their level of reading and strengthen their reading skills. For writing, we can create various templates and graphic organizers to guide students at they write personal narratives from their lives, and argumentative essays, about topics they think are important in the world. In math, we can create intervention materials and games for students to learn basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. We can also create enrichment materials with multi-step problems, to challenge students' thinking, pushing them to the next level.
