Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade students have been learning to get along. They are kind to each other but sometimes have trouble respecting personal space. They want to learn more about how kids can be in the world. Books are always a way to learn about ourselves and the people around us.

Help us build up our classroom library around these three topics: bodily autonomy and consent, breaking gender stereotypes, and birds!

The beautiful books in these three collections will teach students how to respect each other's personal space and how to advocate for their own needs. They will show examples of kids like them who aren't defined by stereotypes about their gender. And finally, they will add to our science passion project for the year: learning about the birds in our neighborhood parks!
