This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love coming to art class! We follow the Teaching Artistic Behavior model of art education which teaches students to think like an artist. Students must be creative, learn to problem solve, be able to communicate ideas, communicate with peers and more.

Each class is unique and special; our learning is entirely student lead.

Student's ideas and inspiration are always at the center of our classroom. Students, like artists, have their own ideas of what is important, what they are interested in, and what they want to share with the world. In our classroom they are given a space to do all of those things! You won't see the same project twice!

We are a Title I school in Southeast Houston, TX with over 850 artists in residence (students)!

My Project

We need a new, round table for our collage station! We need a table that will fit our scissors, glue, shapes, craft sticks, recycled cereal boxes and more!

Collage is where my future engineers, architects, designers and inventors begin their studies.

My students love problem solving and exploring physics while building bridges, and doing precise calculations when building model houses. College is where my students learn that art isn't always flat; art, and the world around them, is three dimensional!

Our table will also be used for our after school clay club. Students have been begging to work with clay all year and with the additional table we will be able to make that happen!
