I am writing to request materials for a Frisbee Golf Unit for my school. This is a rather new game that is popular in few areas. It is a sport that can be played by all ages. It is great for cardiovascular fitness and activity for a lifetime.
I am the Physical Education teacher at an elementary school in the midlands of SC. There are 415 students at my school in grades 2-5. This material will be used by every student in our school, including our new adapted P.E. class for our 8 TMD students.
The specific materials requested in this proposal are 9 targets and 25 Frisbees. The targets are multifunctional. In Frisbee golf we will use them as holes for our 9 hole course. At the conclusion of the unit, students will have opportunities to design their own hole to contribute to a fun outdoor course. These targets will also be used in our throwing/catching units as well as baseball, football, field day competitions, etc.
I want my students to have this experience for many reasons. Mainly because it will be something I know more than 2/3 of the students have never even heard of. It is a sport that can be played by people of all ages and can promote family time together and fitness for a lifetime.
Thank you in advance for your time and generosity.
