Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom thrives on a positive behavior management system called "Fri-YAYs," an initiative I created to encourage excellent conduct and academic achievement among my enthusiastic third graders. Each week, students who demonstrate consistent effort, respect, and responsibility earn the privilege of participating in our special Friday celebration. However, I face a challenge in providing adequate refreshments to reward their accomplishments. Currently, we lack the necessary equipment to keep treats and drinks cold, limiting the enjoyable experience. This grant seeks funding to acquire a mini-fridge, fridge locks for safe storage, along with weekly provisions of juice boxes and chips, enabling us to enhance the Fri-YAY reward system.

By securing these essential items, we can elevate Fri-YAYs and further motivate positive behaviors within my classroom.

A mini-fridge will allow me to offer refreshing, cold juice boxes and store chilled treats, turning our Friday celebrations into highly anticipated events. Fridge locks are crucial to ensure the safe and responsible storage of refreshments, preventing unauthorized access and maintaining a secure learning environment. The availability of juice boxes and chips each week will provide a tangible reward for students who have excelled throughout the week, reinforcing their positive choices and encouraging continued success.

The implementation of this project will foster a more engaging and rewarding classroom atmosphere. By offering a greater incentive for positive behavior, I anticipate a further reduction in classroom disruptions and an increase in student focus on academic tasks.
