Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our ninth grade curriculum includes Born a Crime, Of Mice and Men, Taming of the Shrew and Central Park Five, and our students would benefit tremendously from having their own copy of each of these books.

With their own copy, students can annotate on a daily basis.

This will help them be prepared for their written pieces as well as for their Socratic seminars. Imagine having to prepare for a Socratic seminar without having been able to annotate in your book. that is what the current state is, and we can change that for the entire year through this project.

Students will be responsible for maintaining their books, annotating in them, and using them on a daily basis. The impact of having their own books is monumental. When we annotate and clarify our thoughts, we think deeper and the learning is exponential. Thank you so much for helping us achieve this wonderful goal!
