My Project

Back to school is an exciting time for both students and staff! Welcoming students back into the classroom with new supplies sets a positive tone for the entire school year.

My first graders will look forward to entering a classroom every day with the supplies necessary to help them achieve their learning goals.

Students will use individual book bins during "read to self" time every single day. We all know that reading to oneself is crucial for developing active, lifelong readers. They will be provided the opportunity to select their own reading materials and store them individually in the bins selected from Amazon to provide opportunities for practicing fluency and reading strategies.

Other items selected include sand and plastic trays for students to use during our auditory/kinesthetic phonics drills. he teaching of new concepts incorporates visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways. With this approach, students learn language by ear (listening), mouth (speaking), eyes (seeing), and hand (writing).

Lastly, individual water bottles have been selected as a "back to school" gift for students to keep at their desk, limiting trips to the water fountain and keeping them hydrated and focused at school.
