Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students go to a Title I public school in Washington, D.C. They are 4-6 years old and love art, music, and reading. A lot of the requested materials are Elephant and Piggie books, Pigeon books, and David series, which my kids adore. Additionally, there are some organization and art supplies that we are lacking, since we've had to reuse decades-old paint and playdough. My students love expressing their thoughts and emotions on papers with mixed media, and I'd love for them to have brand-new materials this year. This will, in turn, make them excited to go to school and foment a love for learning and expressing their thoughts on paper.
