Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every year, my classroom is filled with diverse learners. I have students who are just learning English. I have others with special needs. I also have high achieving students. Within this diverse group, one third come from low income households and receive free/reduced-price lunch.

Although my students are all very different academically, economically, and culturally, my students are all curious and eager to be successful learners!

Our school emphasizes the importance of learning no matter what a child's background is. Each year, we strive to find many different resources for all our students to ensure they have the tools they need to grow and become a college-prepared and career-ready learner.

My Project

Returning to in-person school has been such an exciting time! It was a long time coming and everyone was ready to step back into a classroom.

Everyone's number one priority has been to maintain a clean and safe learning environment.

To do that, my classroom is in need of some essential items.

First of all, having an automatic sanitizing station will make it easy for students to come in and out of the classroom. Currently, I am having to put 1-2 pumps onto their hands and wait for everyone to walk in. Since I only have my students for part of the day, I would love to maximize all the minutes I have with them instead of spending time squeezing out sanitizer. Next, my class is in need of regular paper towels. School paper towels are rough and scarce. In addition, I would love to receive Lysol in order to decrease the spread of germs. Lastly, the blue tape will be used to mark the floors so the students know where to position their tables and know what their boundaries are.

With your donations, I plan to decrease the spread of germs and keep my students safe!
