Help me give my students feminine hygiene products, pads, tampons and over the door baskets to place in every restroom at school, so they can feel confident and focus on school instead of being hindered by period poverty.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school is a Title I school, with over 50% of the population receiving free or reduced-price lunch. The Italian National Honor Society that I sponsor has a project to increase access to feminine hygiene products for our girls. It is important to provide students with the privacy and products they need in order to succeed and be able to thrive in a school environment.
Without easy access to these products, students experiencing period poverty are at risk of missing out on class.
Our goal is to create a school environment that both promotes learning as well as the health and well-being of students.
My Project
Period poverty - the lack of access to education about menstruation or menstrual products - is an issue that faces an alarming number of students in the United States.
These pads, tampons, and baskets will allow students who face period poverty to access these resources freely in the school restrooms.
This will improve girls' attendance, since they would not to have to miss school for lack of resources when they have their period, and it will help them to focus on their academic work.
A study conducted by Think and PERIOD found that 23% of students in the U.S. experience period poverty. Additionally, an overwhelming majority of students felt that period products should be available to them in their school bathrooms.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
