This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are awesome! They work hard every day, making me understand why I teach. These kids come from a financially challenging background, and anything I do to help them means the world to them. It can be as simple as giving them a granola bar or fruit snack.

A lot of my kids work, not to buy themselves toys and cars, but more often than not, to help support their families.

They sometimes forget to take care of their own needs. They skip meals because they are running late, or may be tired from a day's work, so I like to think I come in clutch when that happens.

Your generosity never goes unnoticed. If a student is focusing on the fact that he or she is hungry, they can't focus on learning.
