Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our inclusive fourth grade is full of eager learners ready to take on the year. As the classroom teachers, we desire to build a community that encourages individuality while celebrating us as a whole. We aspire that our students will not only meet grade-level mastery in reading, writing, and mathematics but are kind, hard-working and think critically to solve problems. We strive to mold well-rounded, ambitious kids by setting a strong example of not giving up when things get tough!

Our school prioritizes social-emotional learning and developing a positive school climate, however, we do not have the financial means to update our old school building and outdated classrooms.

My Project

We want our classroom to be comfortable for all of the learners. Having a room that is colorful, calming and cozy for all of our fourth graders is what we hope to create with these items. We wish for a variety of seating options and furniture to assist in organizing the space so each student can do their best. Our students are excited to learn, but often have trouble finding a comfortable spot that will best support their needs. We want to build independence among our learners by giving them an organized, safe space with more options than hard chairs and tiled floor.

With your generous support, we will be able to create a warm, nurturing environment which will help our students to self-regulate their bodies so their minds can thrive!
